Retiring IFA - Practice Merger

IFA Practice Merger

Another option when exiting the Dental Practices industry (or if you have multiple equity owners/ an expense sharing partnership) is to merge your business with another partner.

Your business partners or co-directors' benefit from a new partner while you are able to get your equity out. This is an option I recommend if you already have an associate or new partner in mind. Without an individual in mind this can be a much more difficult option and can sometimes devalue your part of the overall practice by up to 40%. This is because not only do we need to find a buyer that likes the practice and can afford it, but we also need to find a buyer that gets on with the other partners and has the same strategic direction, goals, and ambitions.

As consequence, if all partners can consider selling at the same time, or if you can find someone to buy in who is already familiar with the practice and/ or other partners it will be a much easier and cleaner process.
